Students Against Hunger Food Drive
When: October 14, 2013
- December 7, 2013
Location: New York City Schools
Bank For New York City is excited to kick off our annual Student Against Hunger Campaign!
We are calling upon all New York City students to become
active participants in the fight against hunger and be kids feeding kids. Statistics show that over 90% of children
receiving a free or reduced lunch rate at school are at risk of not eating
again that day. Help us end this cycle.
Food Bank For New York City invites your
school to plan a food/fund drive during or throughout this 7 week campaign! SAH campaign
will offer your staff and students the opportunity to work together on a social
responsibility service project and Food Bank For NYC will honor the students
with community service hours for their efforts. The impact will be tremendous!
The campaign begins Monday October 14th 2013 and will run through Friday
December 7th 2013. Students will be asked to bring non-perishable food items to donate. Food Bank will provide a most wanted items
list as well as competitions and themes for a day. We will come speak to your
school or class about the mission and history of Food Bank and provide assistance in planning and facilitating. All collection bins
and pick up of food donations will also be provided and scheduled by Food Bank. Click here for more logistical details.
