The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities works at the federal and state levels on fiscal policy and public programs that affect low- and moderate-income families and individuals. The center develops policy options to alleviate poverty and conducts research and analysis to inform public debates over proposed budget and tax policies and to help ensure that the needs of low-income families and individuals are considered in these debates.

National Center for Children in Poverty
The National Center for Children in Poverty (NCCP), at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, is a public policy center that uses research to promote economic security, health and well-being among low-income families and children. Resources developed by NCCP include a Family Resource Simulator showing the impact of government and nutrition assistance programs on the budgets of low- to moderate-income families.
