New Yorkers take GoOrange to Washington D.C.

On Tuesday, September 26th, more than 40 members from Food Bank For New York City’s network of emergency food providers traveled to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. for #GoOrange2DC. This year, anti-hunger advocates met with the offices of each member of the New York City Congressional Delegation, including Senator Schumer and Senator Gillibrand. Advocates asked their members of Congress to reject cuts to the anti-hunger safety net and to protect such key programs as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, also known as food stamps), The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and School Meals.
