December 22, 2014 – Chef Max Hardy, an entrepreneur, author, private chef and owner of Chef Max Miami LLC, is also a philanthropist whose passion for cooking is equaled only by his passion for fighting hunger. Food Bank For New York City is proud to welcome him as the newest member of our Culinary Council.
As founder of the One Chef Can 86 Hunger Foundation, Chef Max shares Food Bank’s mission to end hunger, and on December 23 he will bring that commitment to our Community Kitchen in Harlem for a special pre-holiday meal for 150 seniors.
Culinary students from Opportunity Charter School will be on hand to help Chef Max prepare and serve an Italian dinner, and recording artist Fabolous will be stopping by to help serve as well.
In 2011, Opportunity Charter School partnered with the One Chef Can 86 Hunger Foundation to form The OCS Culinary Team. The Team meets once a week at The Park 112 restaurant where high school students learn the fundamentals of the culinary arts, under Chef Max’s direction.
Food Bank is thrilled to have Chef Max, Fabolous, and the next generation of chefs join us at the Community Kitchen tomorrow to ensure that Harlem seniors in need kick off the holiday with a delicious and healthy meal.
