Eat For Good Dining Series: Greywind x Girl & The Goat

On Tuesday, July 16th, Food Bank For New York City hosted its third  Eat For Good  dinner of the year in partnership with chefs Dan Kluger of Greywind and Stephanie Izard of Girl & The Goat. You could feel the energy in the room as guests sipped on the specialty cocktail gimlet with fresh raspberries, lime, and vodka provided by our partners at Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

Chefs Dan and Stephanie curated the perfect summer menu that highlighted local tastes, flavors, and fare. The chefs playfully bounced off of one another with their dishes starting with Chef Dan Kluger’s tomato focaccia served with a house-made ricotta dip, carrot hummus, and crispy potatoes with smoked chili, buttermilk ranch, and celery. Up next was Chef Stephanie Izard’s sashimi quinoa salad with pickled golden beets, avocado, and an herby yuzu dressing. After the salad, guests were delighted with another fish dish of slow roasted salmon served alongside corn, zucchini, and eggplant.

Conversations flowed and guests were in awe as Chef Stephanie’s famous confit goat belly, which she brough all the way from Chicago, was placed on tables. The aroma of the belly coupled with sungold tomato and chili butter broth filled the air.

Guests were delighted as the last course consisted of Chef Dan’s famous desserts for the table: a dark chocolate tart with salted caramel, burnt marshmallow, and crème fraiche ice cream and lemon semifreddo with a blueberry jam and peanut butter meringue.
