Food Bank’s Junior Board hosted their second Fundraiser, Fall Into Spring for Hunger Relief on Thursday, November 2nd at Spring Place and it was a great success! The event was hosted by New York Radio Personality, La Loca; and DJ Travis Paquet kept guests on the dance floor. Hors d’oeuvres were passed, and desserts provided by Underwest Donuts and DŌ were real treats. A GIF photo booth was also onsite to provide fun and playful Instagram moments.
One of the unique elements of the evening was Kabaq’s custom virtual reality experience, which gave guests an inside look at Food Bank for New York City’s Bronx Warehouse. The experience motivated those who have never visited the warehouse to ask questions and convinced them to register to volunteer. Some of the attendees did not know that we provide fresh vegetables, meat as well as feminine hygiene products. Food Bank President & CEO Margarette Purvis took on the virtual reality experience and gave it two thumbs up.
The most important part of the event was that through ticket sales, an on-site raffle, and on-site donations, Food bank was able to raise enough funds to provide 65,000 meals to New Yorkers in need.
