June 7, 2016 – Throughout the summer, Food Bank is partnering with GrowNYC to collect food donations at Greenmarkets in Union Square, Grand Army Plaza, Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, and Rockefeller Center (starting in July).
Farm 2 Food Bank with GrowNYC connects farmers with volunteers, who load donations onto our truck for delivery to a local Food Bank For New York City hunger-relief organization.
This initiative helps to reduce waste, and ensures that more New Yorkers have access to the freshest, most nutritious locally-grown food.
