Food Bank For New York City wants to thank New York City’s Congressional leaders and their colleagues in the House of Representatives for taking action to fight hunger in New York and across the country. As one of the nation’s largest food banks, Food Bank For New York City distributed more than 50 million meals to New Yorkers in need since March, but we also know that the country cannot meet the challenges this pandemic has created without strong federal policy like the increased Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) grocery assistance and funding for food banks nationwide. The Senate must follow the House and take immediate action to support our struggling communities, protect our most vulnerable neighbors, and fight hunger across the country.
