NEW YORK, Nov. 10, 2024 —  PoliticsNY has recognized Leslie Gordon, President and CEO of Food Bank For New York City, as one of its 2024 Nonprofit Power Players, honoring her leadership in the fight against hunger.

Since joining Food Bank in 2020, Leslie has driven operational efficiency, enabling the organization to provide 91 million meals, 33 million pounds of fresh produce, and secure over $95 million in SNAP benefits in 2024 alone. With over two decades of experience at Feeding Westchester, City Harvest, and Food Bank For NYC, Leslie remains passionate about immediate, impactful change.

“The people we work with and serve make this work special,” Leslie said. “Together, we deliver critical resources like fresh produce to Sunset Park and culturally relevant food to Inwood, making a real difference daily.”

Leslie called on policymakers to support efforts to combat food insecurity, emphasizing funding for food assistance, strengthening public benefits, and addressing housing and childcare affordability.
