All month long, all five boroughs glowed orange—from the bright shirts of the many corporate volunteers serving at our Bronx Warehouse to prominent members of Manhattan’s skyline, like the Con Edison Tower and Madison Square Garden. Thanks to Target, even Times Square is Going Orange on the prominent NASDAQ and Reuters billboards. Out in Brooklyn, Chef One and Paulie Gee’s Pizza contributed proceeds on their own designated GO ORANGE days, while back in Manhattan Food Bank benefited from tasty DŌ treats, glittery orange-hued candy at Sugarfina and specialty Go Orange cocktails with Tito’s Handmade Vodka ¾ served up by Rooftop Cinemas + Embassy Suites.
Food Bank supporters and partners also gave green to Go Orange throughout the month. Delta Airlines committed to matching up to $50,000 of donations, doubling the impact of contributions to 10 meals for every $1 donated. Supporting the vital meals volunteers served in our Community Kitchen and Pantry, Whole Foods and Related Companies hosted several one-day food drive events, and Real Hospitality Suites partners hosted our Food Bank bins all month long.
Food Bank For New York City thanks our entire Orange Army! At over 560 New Yorkers strong this month, a mix of individuals and companies alike have served over 3,000 volunteer hours to help make this one of our most meaningful and impactful Go Orange campaigns ever. We couldn’t do it without you and we’re grateful you never make us try.[/mpc_textblock][ultimate_spacer height=”25″]
